Cute puppies aren't all little angels,
I'm sorry it has to be said!
They pee on the floor, scratch at the door,
and leave biscuit crumbs in your bed.
You spend half your time letting them out,
the other half getting them back,
they chew up the post, shred the loo roll,
their fur clogs the hose on your vac.
They pull up your flowers, dig holes in the lawn,
cry through the night, then wake you at dawn!
They lick clean their privates whenever you're eating,
they sniff every bottom, it's their way of greeting.
Nine times out of ten, when posh neighbours call,
they step in a pile he's left in the hall!
They bark at the telly, steal from the table,
bite through their leads and the video cable.
Despite all their faults in dogs you will find,
a friend who is faithful, loyal and kind.
A puppy will bring you much strife and commotion,
but repays you tenfold with his lifelong devotion.
